Chapter 9 "Becoming a 'Serious Country'"

1) The chapter mentions a number of ways in which Brazil and the US are similar. List as many as you can.

2) The chapter discusses ways in which Brazil "punches under its weight". Explain in general what is meant by that statement and give as many examples as you can find.

3) The chapter hints and in some cases states outright things that foreigners 
might say or do that could be seen as stereotypical mistakes or even insults.
List as many of these as you can. This is an especially important list
because we should all carefully avoid these mistakes!

4) Is there anything else in this chapter that you found especially
interesting?

5) As you read make a list of questions that you have that you might
either want to ask one of our video chat guests or hosts (or perhaps
investigate yourself as part of your powerpoint presentation).  Write 
at least 3 new questions inspired by this chapter.
